Supreme Art
Her action, though unintentional, allowed even more people to admire Master's supreme artistic creation. How marvelous and interesting indeed is God's arrangement!
Supreme Master Ching Hai and Her disciples have always performed charitable deeds for the world's suffering people. They had donated three thousand tons of rice, twenty-five tons of salt and five tons of sugar to the Cambodian flood victims. Most recently, they donated two thousand tons of rice and five thousand cans of milk powder to North Korea, and another US$30,000 to Bangladesh's flood victims. They had also sent donations to mainland China: Ganshu, Hubei, Hunan, Anwhei, Liao Nin, Gi Lin and several other provinces for the earthquake and flood victims.
Ever since She was a child, She loved to study various Buddhist sutras and world literatures due to Her father's influence. Her mother was a Catholic, but was never against Buddhism. Since childhood She used to attend church in the mornings and go to the temple in the afternoons to worship the Buddha. So, reciting the sutras and keeping a vegetarian diet were daily routines to Her.
She went to the United Kingdom to study English culture when She was eighteen. After that She went to France and Germany to further Her studies. While She was in Germany She worked as a translator (English, French, German and Vietnamese) for the Red Cross, helping the Vietnamese refugees. She was married to a German scientist with double Ph.D. while she was studying in Germany.
Through Her work, She came into contact with a lot of hunger victims including the refugees. Suddenly, She realized the truth of the Buddha's words: "Only after being Buddha can one really help all sentient beings with infinite power." That was why She made up Her mind to become a renunciate.
She searched for an enlightened master all over the world. Then She went to the Himalayas to retreat and finally came to Formosa to preach the Truth until now.
The Organiser specially arranged a preview night of the jewelry. Special guests and VIPs were invited to attend this event, and our beloved Master was one of them! Prior to Her arrival, fellow practitioners waited eagerly at the entrance. After a while, Master finally arrived in a gorgeous pink outfit with Her hair elegantly bundled up. It was a heartwarming and overwhelming feeling witnessing Master's beauty and grace.
A fashion show was arranged to display the jewelry from the various jewelers. "The Hidden Force Connection" from S.M. Celestial Jewelry was displayed in the fashion show. The unique design of this set of jewelry distinguished itself from the other jewelry, leaving one amazed by Master's artistic talents in jewelry design. The compere for the show then introduced the designer, Supreme Master Ching Hai, sitting at the back row, to the audience. Master was astonished that Her name was mentioned and She smiled in shyness. Fellow practitioners are impressed by Master's humbleness.
After the fashion show, Master strolled around the exhibition hall to view the jewelry from the various dealers. Fellow practitioners, as usual, crowded around Her wherever She walked; and once again, She became the center of attraction. Finally, She came to the S.M. Celestial Jewelry booth and apparently was satisfied with the display of the jewelry and the layout of the booth. She then took a closer look at the newly designed tie-pin for men, tried it against several male fellow practitioners' ties, commenting that it looked very beautiful. Next, She walked to other booths, and leaving the exhibition after a while.
On that very night, a local newspaper published an article regarding the exhibition of Master's jewelry in Singapore. It reported that She had personally designed the exquisite jewelry, and the jewelry is available for purchase by the public. Furthermore, the earnings from the sales of the jewelry would be used for charity purposes, to help the people of poor nations. An introduction to Master's background and Her photograph were also included in the article.
Furthermore, a reporter from a popular local TV program was so attracted by Master's jewelry such that she wanted to arrange an appointment with us to feature Master's jewelry on a TV show. She was impressed that Master had not studied jewelry design and yet was able to produce such gorgeous masterpieces.
A jeweler from Hong Kong liked the opal stones in "The Hidden Force Connection" so much that he came twice to see them. He said that he had never seen such lively and gorgeous opals, and that he would like to acquire such stones.
One fellow practitioner saw Master's form in the emerald of the 'Father' (Sun) ring. This was also witnessed by a few other fellow practitioners at the booth. That fellow practitioner was very excited and overwhelmed with joy.
In addition, there was a lady who read about Master's jewelry exhibition from the newspaper and came especially to see the display. She had attended Master's lecture here in January '95 and was interested in Her teachings. She intended to purchase Master's paintings for her new home and is looking forward to attending Master's next lecture in Singapore.
There was also an Indian female jeweler who originally did not want to attend the exhibition, but was somehow convinced to come. She was glad that she came the moment she received Master' sample booklet. She remembered some time ago a fortune teller told her that if she wanted answers to her questions in life, she ought to practice meditation. She realized that it was not a coincidence that she received the sample booklet; it was predestined that she would come into contact with Master.
There were many visitors who had already heard about Master through the lecture here in January '95 or the newspapers. They were interested in Master's teachings and took sample booklets to read for more information on our spiritual path. Many of them asked questions regarding spiritual practice, and some even asked for the contact number of our meditation Center. Others showed interest in practicing the Convenient Method.
Throughout the four days of exhibition, besides local fellow practitioners, the fellow practitioners from Indonesia and Malaysia even came to give their support. As compared to other booths, ours was the busiest and was always full of activities. One could almost always hear excited and enthusiastic comments from the customers.
Even the attention of passers-by and neighboring exhibitors was captivated by the atmosphere at our booth. In fact, exhibitors from other booths came personally to ours to find out what was going on as it was always so crowded with people. They must be wondering what marketing strategy we used to attract such a big crowd! They said that they frequently heard of the name "S.M. Celestial Jewelry" even in the previous exhibition stops of the tour. After seeing Master's jewelry, they agreed that the jewelry designs are very unique and, indeed, very attractive. One exhibitor remarked that his company could not produce such jewelry as their jewelry was machine-made.
Beautifully designed leaflets, which were specially designed by a local fellow practitioner, featuring some of Master's jewelry were distributed to visitors who came to our booth. Master's fashion show video was also played, attracting many people to our booth. Many were simply amazed by Her artistic talents in both jewelry and fashion design. There was a man who was so engrossed in watching the video that he stood there for more than twenty minutes; he returned to our booth again on another day. It simply left one in awe at Master's omnipotent power to save sentient beings. Some fellow practitioners also brought along their family members to purchase Master's jewelry. The most popular men's item was probably the 'Sun' ring, and for the women were probably the 'Wisdom Eye' and 'Mother' (Moon). The favorite children's items were 'E.T.,' 'Bodhidharma' and 'God's Children'.
