Recently, during a group meditation at Hsihu Center, as Master was walking about, a sister practitioner told Master that her husband had been initiated severnl years ago, but had never had an opportunity to see Her. Although he missed Master very much, and was eager to come to Hsihu to see Her, he was obstructed by being unable to walk normally.... Immediately Master mercifully promised to give him a wheelchair.

When the fellow practitioners of Chiayi, on behalf of Master, presented the wheelchair to brother Lee, both sister and brother Lee were moved to tears. They were very grateful for Master's care and love. When brother Lee tried his new wheelchair, he was so excited that he rolled it from side to side, forward and backward. Satisfaction and youthful joy were evident in his face, as if he were a child again.

Brother Lee hadn't walked for many years, but he had never dreamed of having a wheelchair. If it were not for Master's tender loving care, he would hardly even have had a glimpse of Her. With gratitude, brother Lee came to Hsihu with an "Armchair of Master's love" the next Sunday, to express his appreciation to Master, and met Her as he had always wished. Master reminded his wife to take him to the doctor regularly. Her affectionate tone touched and filled the disciples present with warmth.

To convey Master's love and concern, and to provide more opportunities for the prisoners to be exposed to Her teachings, fellow practitioners from Kaohsiung paid another visit to the Kaohsiung Prison, Their liaison and preparatory work was accomplished smoothly, thanks to Master's loving blessing.

Like a dear friend, a fellow initiate opened with a cordial address, then briefly introduced Master's story of Truth-seeking and Her recent activities of spreading the Truth. His humorous words created a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. Next, a sister initiate gave an account of her spiritual quest: how she overcame drug addiction with Master's loving help and found herself again. Her sincere and earnest testimony deeply touched everyone's heart.

Following the sister's speech was a broadcast of Master's videotape, "The Difference Between Gradual Enlightenment and Instant Enlightenment." Incredibly, while the video was playing, two little birds flew into the hall and kept circling overhead. They sang beautifully and distinctly, as if bringing in the dimension of the sound current. Master's love pervaded and blessed the whole venue.

Afterwards, some introductory shots of the Worldwide S.M. Celestial Fashion Show were shown. Instantly, all the irunates watched wideeyed, and flexed their necks for an optimal view. Appreciating the ethereal beauty of the scenes, their stern faces gradually relaxed. Even the prison staff gazed at the video screen without blinking. Although the showing lasted only a few short minutes, the blessings of beauty from heaven undoubtedly brought sweetness and comfort to the dry and monotonous life in the prison. The inmate brothers' relaxed and softened expressions illustratecl their bliss upon receiving "a delightful rain after a long drought."

While everyone was expressing his praise and longing for more, fellow practitioners distributed Master's photos and magazines to each of them, thus concluding a successful truth-spreading trip to prison.

Many people here had been awaiting initiation for quite a while. Upon receiving the message that Master had kindly approved them for initiation, one after another they rushed to Surabaya from distant islands. Being taken care of by Master, everything turned out well, be it asking for a leave of absence or a shift in working hours. Our merciful Master satisfied the longings of everyone. At the time of initiation, some saw Master's manifestation body as well as lights from the higher levels. In the past, some ancient practitioners could only hear once in a lifetime the inner sound of the bell. But of these new initiates some were able to have this experience or even higher experiences at the time of initiation.

Among the would-be initiates, one had originally been a Catholic nun. In the convent where she had lived, she meditated daily, morning and evening. One day when she went to teach in a fellow sister's house, she felt a kind of serenity and peace which she had never experienced before, something that she had been longing to achieve for many years in her spiritual practice. After talking to the fellow sister, she learned that her husband was a disciple of Supreme Master Ching Hai, practicing the Quan Yin Method and aclliering to a pure vegetarian diet. She returned home with a sample booklet and read it carefully. Immediately she decided to become a vegetarian, and learn the Convenient Meditation Method, which has

changed her whole life. Since then, all the difficulties that she encounters dissolve as soon as she thinks of Master. It is meditation all the same, but with a different master, the results are also different. If one finds a living Master who has great power, it is all right to practice at home. Now, her life is acquiring more happiness and light day by day.

One day, fellow initiate Lin's family was going out of town. They hired a security guard to protect their home. This guard had learned many methods of spiritual practice, including meditation. On that day, when he was meditating, he found that the spot where a banyan tree was planted had become a sea of light. A very beautiful lady appeared and said to him, "Follow me."

"I am not ready yet," he replied.

He told initiate Lin this wonderful experience when he returned. When initiate Lin showed him Master's photo, he uttered continuously, "Yes, yes. That's right. This is Her, but what I saw was even more dignified and beautiful than the photo." Soon after, he not only studied Master's teachings earnestly, but also introduced them to his father. The father and son were both deeply moved by Master. Fully convinced that they have finally found the perfect Master, they both have become members of the big Quan Yin family.

All experienced spiritual practitioners know that the most precious thing in spiritual practice is the guidance of a living enlightened master and personal verification. Locally, there is a practicing method. Accorcling to its devotees, their method is similar to the Quan Yin Method. However, a practitioner who has practiced that method for over a decade said that even though they also meditate he has had no experiences at all. Besides, the master they followed has passed away.

When one of this group's fellow practitioners received initiation from Supreme Master Ching Hai, this person immediately experienced the supra-worldly light and sound. This proved the extraordinary possibility of Immediate Enlightenment and Eternal Liberation in one life.' Therefore, other practitioners of that method have also started to study Master's teachings and have unanimously confirmed that Master's divine words are like nectar irrigating their long thirsty souls. 1l1ey have purified their actions, speech and thoughts, and piously prayed to Master to grant them initiation.

When fortunate persons, including Catholics, Buddhists, Muslims and others, have received the initiation they all have had wonderful experiences. Many of them have said afterwards that they had heard various sounds from the Heavenly Kingdom even when practicing the Convenient Method. Now, they are absolutely convinced that

all the founding masters of different religions also taught the Quan Yin Method. Therefore they appreciate Master even more. At the moment, many more people are anxiously waiting to complete the period of time required as a vegetarian to be eligible to receive Master's initiation.

During a conversation with the Quan Yin messenger, the leader of the Nichiren Sect in Bogor mentioned his wonderful experience. When he piously and silently recited "Mahaguru Ching Hai," he immediately felt Master's extremely pure and powerful love, which made him cry uncontrollably with bliss. Since then, he has read all of Master's teachings in English and Indonesian, and he can only describe these supreme and precious teachings of Truth with the word 'perfection.' Each time he watches Master's lecture videos his tears flow uncontrollably.

As the news spread that Master had sent a Quan Yin messenger to Jakarta, an endless stream of people visited the local center every day. One lady said that some time ago she had suddenly begun to dislike eating meat, but she forced herself to continue to do so. After reading Master's sample booklet recently, she would vomit and feel dizzy whenever she ate meat. Now, she is definitely unable to force herself to eat meat again. She can naturally feel the pureness and happiness in eating vegetarian.

St. John Island is a small outlying island to the south of Singapore. It is densely covered with trees, and visitors are usually few. Therefore, the local fellow practitioners consider the island to be an ideal place for holding retreats. There are many vacation facilities, such as dormitories, kitchens and bathrooms, which are convenient for them.

The weather in Singapore is very hot. However, during the retreat, everyone practiced in a joyful and diligent mood. Naturally, a refreshing coolness emerged within them and eased the effect of the heat outside! Amid the tight meditation schedule, there were also periods of relaxation. After meals, everyone would sit together to discuss the insights or problems encountered on their path of cultivation.

In the evening, they shifted to the seaside for meditation. Supported by the soothing sea breeze and the rhythm of sea waves, fellow practitioners earnestly explored their treasure of wisdom within.

In the big family of Quan Yin practitioners, Master's divine love is always with everyone. Therefore, no matter where they are, fellow practitioners can al ways feel the peacefulness of meditative bliss. They are constantly blessed by the feelings of security, haffi1ony, comfort and joy.

In early July, many provinces in southern and central China underwent continuous, torrential rainfall, producing flood disaster victims in many areas. In Hunan Province, among the four largest river systems, the upper and middle branches of the Ruan and Zi Rivers experienced their worst flooding in a century , which caused numerous casualties and severe property loss. In the areas affected by the flood, houses were destroyed, and people and livestock were injured and killed. Rice fields were also ruined, trees were uprooted, high tension wires were toppled, and the property of many victims was wiped out.

Fellow practitioners from Hunan and Beijing responded to Master's call and immediately organized a fundraising drive, collected needed items, rushed to the disaster areas to investigate the extent of the damage, and launched relief efforts. A would-be initiate also distributed fliers to his co-workers that read, "A set of old clothes, a piece of old sheet, an old mosquito net, a rain parka, and a pound of rice are all equal to one loving heart."

One after another, fellow practitioners performed on-the-spot investigations of the villages and towns that had been most affected by the flooding. They then used the relief money that

they had collected to purchase rice, flour pancakes, pickled mustard roots, clothing, mineral water, and various medical supplies to relieve the most severely affected victims, who were also offered cash. According to Master's instructions to benefit sentient beings without leaving a trace of their presence, the fellow initiates worked anonymously. Despite this risk and their exhaustion after working long hours for days in extremely high temperatures, from one disaster area to another they delivered the relief items to the most needy in the shortest possible time, bringing Master's love to their hearts.

Upon receiving the relief items and money, many victims, with deep gratitude, inquired about the names of the fellow practitioners who had helped them. The practitioners then pointed to Master's picture on the sample booklets and said, "If you want to thank someone, then thank Master, because it was She who sent us to help you. " Profoundly moved, the victims raised their booklets into the air and cried, "Ching Hai Wu Shing Shih! Ching Hai Wu Shing Shih!'. And they also helped the fellow initiates to distribute the relief items. Some victims even asked the fellow practitioners, with sample booklets in their hands, "This Master is so great! Can we hang the booklet with a yellow cloth and worship it'?"

In the middle of June, fellow practitioners from New York and Pennsylvania went to New Jersey to participate in the Chinese Day Festival. The festival, which attracts many people each year, was a good opportunity for fellow initiates, to spread the Truth and Master's love. Usually, the June weather in New Jersey is hot and humid, but, thanks to Master's blessing, that day it was mild and breezy.

Early in the morning, disciples from neighboring states arrived at the festival site promptly to do the set up work. At one end of the park, disciples from New York displayed a large array of Master's video and audio tapes and books. They also played Master's videotapes, to awaken the visitors's inner wisdom through Master's appearance and voice. Among other things, Master's finely printed books and News magazines were a major attraction to the passersby. At the other end of the park, food and refreshments were served. Disciples from New Jersey and Pennsylvania skillfully prepared a wide variety of delicious vegetarian food ranging from soups to deserts. The cuisins were special and,

moreover, audiotapes of Master's Buddhist chants and personal musical compositions were played in the background. Thus, waves of people surged around all day long.

Many visitors to the festival were very much intrigued by Master's teachings, and, among them, there was a composer. He said that he had a strong affinity with Master because wherever he went, he always met disciples who gave him a sample booklet. And now he wanted to learn about Master's musical compositions at a deeper level. People made very positive comments about the food that the disciples prepared. Some even suggested that they open a vegetarian restaurant.

Through this activity, the disciples experienced deeply Master's divine love. In doing the work, it was most joyful for them to be able to extend Master's love to their fellow countrymen.

Following the Celestial Fashjon Show in New York, Master mentioned that we should find ways to extend our love of Her to other people. She said that we should learn how to network with other groups that are helping the world and begin to work with them.

So, during the Whole Life Expo in San Francisco, local initiates set up a booth and had a chance to discuss with many spiritually minded people new ideas about working toward world peace. They decided to create an event called the 'Meditation for Planetary Healing and World Peace' to bring together people of goodwill from environmental, spiritual, and charitable organizatjons and spend a short time praying and meditating together, in order to send loving thoughts and healing vibrations toward the earth.

The purpose of this activity was to set an example of mutual respect and love for all people regardless of their beliefs, so as to share Master's blessing with them in collective meditation. The people that the initiates met at the Expo were very excited about trus plan and were interested in participating. One magazine, called 'HeartDance,' which publishes a calendar of local spiritual events, actually interviewed the initiates and published an article announcing the event to the spiritual community.

Meditation took place at San Francisco State University. Following a short introduction, everyone meditated together. Although the meditation lasted only a short time, it was very powerful. Fellow initiates felt that Master's love came streaming into the room. There were some delegates from the United Nations in Geneva who came to the event who had actually heard Master speak at the UN. They thought that this kind of gathering was very meaningful, and even expressed interest in coordinating a similar event in Geneva. They said that if many people around the world meditated for peace at the same time, the earth could become a better place in which to live. Fellow initates told them that they would like to hold such events quarterly in coniunction with the winter and summer solstices and the fall and spring equinoxes, when the earth is going through its cycles of reiuvenation.

Usually, people all over the world meditate together on the eve of the New Year in order to pray for global peace, but with so many problems currently facing our earth, holding these events more often would be done in hopes that others will be inspired to do so as well, to change our own destinies and turn the world toward a golden age of prosperity, peace, and love.

A Canadian in Vancouver was introduced to Master's teachings a year ago. Soon after, he became very fond of Her, realizing that She is an enlightened being. He had been searching for Truth much of his life, knew a great deal about the masters of various schools, and was initiated by a renowned master whom he had followed for many years. The method he was taught, similar to the Quan Yin Method, also involved light and sound.

This year, he again contacted the local Center and with great eagerness and a firm attitude, applied for initiation. Feeling that fellow initiates were curious about his change in perspective, he revealed how Master had demonstrated incredible power so that even he, who as stubborn as a stone, was forced to nod his head in agreement.

In the past he knew only that Master was enlightened, and possessed great loving power. Although Master had made him understand everything when he first came into contact with

Her, being stubborn, he was not moved. Even when Master came to give him. messages during meditation and or help him understand something through some situation, he still assumed that his mind was tricking him. Recently, he ran into 'fatal' trouble. While meditating, he desperately looked for help from all the masters he had previously known, but all his efforts were in vain, no matter how hard he prayed for assistance.

When he was about to give up, he tried praying to Supreme Master Ching Hai and as soon as he pronounced Master's name, an undescriblly powerful stream of brilliant light appeared and enveloped him. He was very much moved and felt he had been filled with a loving power. Afterwards, the trouble that had plagued him so persistently was easily solved.

What moved this individual was this fact: Master does not deSert and continues to take care of those who are as stubborn as he is and believe in Her only halfheartedly. He thus fully surrendered to Master's great loving power, and became very determined to receive initiation from Her.
