Supreme Master Ching Hai is always concerned about and rendering loving aid to the people of Cambodia - a friendly neighboring country.

Recently at the Camdodian Royal Palace, King Sihanouk received the Quan Yin messenger, and other charitable groups contributing to the development of Cambodia. The King extended repeated gratitude to these groups for their help to the Cambodian people.

Representing Supreme Master Ching Hai, the Quan Yin messenger presented the King with a contribution of US$lO,000, to assist him in the building of schools, and some of Master's publications about Her teachings on the Quan Yin Method. In return, the King conferrltd an imperial 'silver vessel' to Supreme Master Ching Hai through the Quan Yin messenger.

The King then immediately instructed Minister K.B., to carry out the relief work as quickly as possible, making sure that the relief materials really reach the hands of the people in need.

A Letter Of Appreciation From Omura Refugee Camp In Japan

To: Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association

Dear Sir/Madam:

Greetings and best wishes to everyone in this early summer season!

We have already received 250 blankets, 246 pairs of sports shoes and books, sent for the refugees by your Association. On behalf of the refugees, we would like to extend to You our utmost gratitude.

We have distributed these donated items to those Vietnamese refugees returning to Au Lac, and conveyed Your warmest loving thoughts and friendship.

We hope that in the future, You will continue to contribute to the relief work for the refugees, and at the same time, continue to take into consideration the immigration regulations.

Finally, we wish You all the success in the further development and prosperity of Your Association.

Omura Camp is in Nagasaki County, south Japan. Formerly, it was a detention camp for Korean and illegal foreigners. Now, there are over four hundred Au Lac refugees being detained there together with foreigners of various nationalities.

Through a compassionate translator of the camp, Japanese fellow initiates came to know that the Au Lac refugees to be repatriated are living in pitiful conditions. They have nothing except the few pieces of clothes given to them previously by the Supreme Master Ching Hai, now old and torn, so he asked our Association for help. Supreme Master Ching Hai ever concerned about the needs of the refugees, especially instructed the headquarters in Hsihu, Formosa to send gifts to Nagasaki.

Every Au Lac refugee to be repatriated received gifts: one pair of shoes, a blanket, and some of Supreme Master Ching Hai's books and magazines to console their suffering souls.

Conveying Sorrow And Concern For The Sakhalin Island Earthquake Victims

At the end of May, an early morning giant earthquake buried many of Neftegorsk, Russia' s residents. This sudden disaster had almost leveled the entire small oil town of Naftegorsk.

Rescue workers had to overcome bad weather and transportation difficulties to carry out the search and rescue work. It was reported that thus far, 2000 people had been trapped beneath the rubble.

Upon hearing this tragic news, Supreme Master Ching Hai promptly instructed the headquarter to communicate with the appropriate channels to fmd out how to send funds as a relief donation. After making urgent contact with the international relief organization, it was found that, the Association of Medical Doctors for Asia (AMDA) in Japan, had already sent out some emergency aid supplies, and their next delivery of relief goods would follow soon. Therefore, Master immediately instructed. that a US$lO,000 be sent to this 'association to serve as relief fund for the purchase of medicine and other necessities. At the same time, a letter was sent to Mr. Igori Pavlovich Farkhutdinov, the Head of State of Sakhalin Island, to express the deepest concern, and to convey to them God's blessings, that everything will be fme.

Supreme Master Ching Hai learned about the recent flood disaster in Bangladesh caused by the reversed overflow of sea water which was estimated to have affected three hundred and fifty thousand people. Before any international community had launched relief operations, Supreme Master Ching Hai instructed Her headquarters to quickly contact the relevant international organizations to ask whether they required manpower support.

Knowing that the U.N. had already posted a commissioner to the Bangladesh capital Dhaka, which provided a channel to facilitate delivery of relief materials to the affected area, Supreme Master Ching Hai immediately instructed that US$ 20,000 be given to the U.N. for a relief fund so that the flood victims could receive the wannth of love in time!
