Being a well known spiritual teacher who is compassionate, Supreme Master Ching Hai has devoted Her life to God and mankind. Therefore She is very much respected throughout the world. Her disciples who come from all nations and therefore have different social backgrounds, not only regard Her as a teacher but also honor Her as a beloved Mother and a living Buddha. As instructed by Her, Her largest international center in Formosa publishes magazines and books to encourage mankind to do only virtuous deeds. These books are distributed all over the world and are published in many different languages such as Au Lac, English, Chinese, French, German, and Spanish. Supreme Master Ching Hai does not discriminate between religions. She says that genuine followers of any kind of religion must be sincere and kind and truly practice the precepts or commandments of their own religion. On Sunday, May 14, 1995, more than 600 fellow practitioners, along with their families and friends, gathered at the Sydney Center to have a grand celebration in commemoration of Supreme Master Ching Hai's birthday. This year the celebration coincided with the Buddha's birthday and Mother's Day in Australia, so it became even more honorable and dignified. The celebration started with a group meditation from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m., when meditators prayed for world peace and happiness. At 11:30 a.m. an entertainment program began, which included many artistic performances. Performers were Au Lac, Chinese, and Australians. Each performance tried to emphasize a particular cultural tradidion. During the opening ceremony, a representative of the organization spoke about the purpose of the celebration. |
The first performance was a song called "Beloved Master" followed by "Happy Birthday to Master," both sung by an Au Lac-Australian group, and accompanied by rhythmic hand clapping from the audience, which created a warm and happy atmosphere. The performances by the Au Lac fellow practitioners included solos, chorus singing and traditional dancing. Most special was the “Fan Dance” with the song “My Village at Dusk”, and the “Drum Dance”. The performances by the children were especially well liked. Among the Chinese performances were two beautiful flute solos: "Birds in the Forest" and "Shear a Sheep". Two fellow practitioners who were foreign students from Formosa also took part in the program. A fellow practitioner from New Zealand, who was a professional singer, touched the hearts of the audience with her beautiful voice and guitar playing. Finally, Joseph Fallon, an Australian singer who often entertains audiences, sang a song full of love and sincerity, which he accompanied with a guitar. At the end of the entertainment, a song called “Go! Go! Go!” by Supreme Master Ching Hai, was performed beautifully by female fellow practitioners. This song means that all of us, at the end of our lives, will “Go” on the glorious path towards heaven, a place God has already prepared for us, instead of returning to a "dark prison. |

And last month, Supreme Master Ching Hai again proved her touch in the world of art, this time in fashion design. She managed to design various clothes that reflect various nations, ethnic groups and religions. There were European fashions, middle East fashions and Chinese designs which are both practical and feminine. Fashion trends that were created were very modern, comparable to the world renowned fashion designers. |
Most of the visitors made comments, "Fashion clothes designed by Supreme Master Ching Hai are not only beautiful, very matching, but also they give extra power to the one who wears them. Besides a high level of self-confidence, the wearer's spiritual level will be uplifted. This is because Supreme Master Ching Hai combined the color of the designs with Her skills, something that the other designers do not have. |
