Poem

Quietly, You Embraced Me

When I was most anxious
You did not come.
Yet when I didn't pay attention,
You embraced me quietly.
What broke into this cold, rigid heart of mine?
And made me
The one who never sheds a tear,
Now cries like a babe!

I have trodden alone on the path,
And watched life's sorrows along the roadside.
I soared high into the sky,
Carrying with me a lonely heart,

My eyes filled with melancholy.
I ran and I screamed in the wind,
Complaining to Heavens and Earth,
Who took no notice!

Yet when I was most unwanted,
You embraced me quietly,
Giving me all the love and warmth I needed,
Soothing all the ruffles deep within my soul.
Now I am set free!
Near of joy flow endlessly,
My Heart forever fulfilled.
