After attending the International seven-day retreat in Taipei,
Formosa, we understood Master's deep concern for the consciousness
of all human beings and for the Au Lac refugee issue. We felt that
all of us have the responsibility to let more people know about it.
We hoped we could do something about it. So we planned this more
than ten day journey. |
DenmarkIn the afternoon of July 4, we arrived at Arrhus, Denmark, and before nightfall around 700 signatures had already been collected. A Danish boy wanted to do something for us. After he knew the activity was for the freedom of the Au Lac refugees and that we did not collect any money, he signed wholeheartedly and sincerely. We also met some former Au Lac refugees. When they heard everything that Master had done for the refugees, they were very grateful to Her. They took Master's magazines and sample booklets and promised that they would pass on the information about the refugees to other Au Lac people, and see if they could do anything about it. The next morning we collected signatures on the ferry to Oslo, Norway. More than half of the passengers on the ferry signed. A professor said he had discussed the refugee issue with his students. Many of the passengers wished us good luck & success. NorwayWe started the signature activity on the main shopping street when we arrived in Oslo. We displayed the slogan “One Signature Can Save The Lives Of Many Au Lac Refugees Who Are Facing Forced Repatriation To Au Lac” to let people know the main purpose of our activity. We also wore S.O.S. bands on our heads and arms. The response from most of the people was very good. There were also many people who were interested in Master's teachings. A Muslim -- a Muslim we met during the signature activity said that he had been in Norway for many years, always in search of God. He believed that if we want to pursue the path of God, we need to follow a prophet who was blessed by God to bless the people. He also said that since Mohammed, there has been no prophet. We told him that Master is the present prophet who can lead people to enlightenment. He was very happy to get the sample booklet and said he would like to receive Master's magazines. Singer -- a girl who was singing next to us signed the petition and came back later to get Master's booklet. When she received the booklet, she was very grateful. Another singer announced while he was singing, “If you want to help someone, you just sign your name to help the refugees, and to help this activity, because they are truly helping people.” After he finished singing, he said to us that he would like to do something for the refugees. A Martial Arts Practitioner -- a Norwegian who was practicing martial arts was looking for a method to reach a higher level. We said to him that many disciples had been practicing Chi Kong or Tai Chi for a long time, and that it was only when practicing the Quan Yin Method that they could reach a higher level. The man said, “If the Quan Yin Method is actually the one I have been looking for, then I will dedicate myself to it for the rest of my life." A Norwegian -- a Norwegian said that if the Au Lac refugees had to come to Norway, he would be very happy to welcome them. A Spiritual Practitioner -- a woman who was a member of the spiritual and humanitarian organization “Baha'i” said that she also believed in one God and in the unity of all beings. She is grateful for the presence of enlightened prophets on earth. She was happy to receive Master's booklet and said she hoped we could cooperate with and help each other to better the world.
An Au Lac Man -- an Au Lac man was so grateful that we were helping
his countrymen. He was also willing to help us by giving the tapes
and news magazines concerning the refugees to any TV network,
newspaper, or humanitarian organization in Norway.
We petitioned the people in the shopping area of Stockholm. Many people signed because they understood what it was to be a refugee, many of them being refugees themselves. There was a long queue to sign. Many people did not know about the refugee issue and thought that Au Lac was no more a communist country. After knowing about the situation in Hong Kong, they signed wholeheartedly. Some who signed brought other friends to sign. Others signed because they already knew about Master. People left wishing there would soon be a solution for the refugees. When we returned to Copenhagen we gave all the information about Master and the refugee issue to a journalist who specializes in spiritual matters around the world. |
Peter Tygesen, a radio broadcaster, said that the refugee issue was still very vivid in the minds of the Danish people who still remember the first terrible pictures they received from the “boat people”, and that Denmark was one of the first countries to accept them. He agreed to read the information before deciding to say something about it. Henrick Kaufholz from “Politiken”, Vera Bundgaard from the newspaper “Information”, and Henrick Schultz from TV2 were also given the information packages. Master had arranged everything. It was so easy to meet the journalists without any appointment. Also, when talking to the journalists, with Master's boundless blessings, the words came easily without having to think too much about what to say . Actually the more we talked to them, the more we talked heart to heart. We could feel our hearts expand so much through that experience. When we returned to the signature activity, something magical was going on. Our team members had found an empty shopping-window on the main shopping street where they could hang the big signature sheet. Passers-by came spontaneously after reading our poster “One Signature Can Save The Lives Of Many Au Lac Refugees Who Are Facing Forced Repatriation.” People came to sign sincerely because they thought it was the right thing to do to save the refugees. As some left with the information sheet they said, "Thank you. What you're doing is good." Some Au Lac people came with others who had signed the day before. They said they could give the information about the refugees to the Au Lac church, and to the Au Lac radio station. They also took a video to show to other people. They thanked Master for Her helping the Au Lac refugees. We then told them what Master always says, “It was an opportunity to expand our love.”
A disciple in Dortmund, Germany, had a beautiful center in her
flat. We set up the signature activity in the center. Although time
was short the signature activity still went smoothly and a lot of
signatures were collected.
Later, we went to do the activity in Brussels, Belgium. Two disciples went to give information to the newspapers, the United Nations Office, and the European Parliament.
During the signature activity, fellow practitioners
distributed many booklets in all languages to the people who came
to sign. They left very happy, surprised to have such a beautiful
book in their hands, free of charge. Most of the people who came to
sign were concerned about peace and human rights. Many of them were
very interested in Master's teachings, regardless of their
religion.
The French disciples from Paris had prepared some information in French and joined the signature activity in the square near the Paris Cultural Center. The response throughout the whole activity was very good. People were queuing up to sign. To Do Our Best Without Expecting Any RewardDuring this long tour, Master took care of our every wish. For example, when in Sweden, it was so difficult to find a shower that Master gave us a big lake, pure and cool. This was the best bath of the trip! One day one of us wished inside she could see a little bit of Copenhagen. Her wish was satisfied. She and another sister walked all afternoon around Copenhagen to visit all the newspapers and television stations! All the team members of this trip got along very well. Because we were all united in the purpose of working for Master, we did not think of ourselves, so that's why it was quite easy for us to live together harmoniously and happily on the bus. Throughout the signature activity, we learned to give others space and to respect their freedom. We were following Master's advice - to do our best without expecting any reward. But we were always surprised at seeing Master's arrangements. She opened the doors to the journalists without any difficulty, so that more people could know about the refugees; without any appointment we met with the foreign editor of the TV network. We could also see that many people cared about saving other people's lives without us having to convince them with a long speech, and that many people who have affinity with Master were attracted to the place where we were collecting signatures. Thanks to Master for giving us such a beautiful lesson and journey, and for being able to see people from all over the world reunite their loving hearts to become one, due to the refugee issue. |
